Act 2:Scene 1- Ophelia notifies Polonius that she had an encounter with Hamlet. He shook her arm and jerked his head up and down and sighed as it was his last breath. Polonius proposes that they need to go tell the kind about what happened in order to discuss the matter and prevent future troubles.
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern arrive, by the wishes of Claudius in order to help figure out what is causing Hamlet's behavior. Upon their meeting, Hamlet is suspicious about why Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are there. Hamlet's friends mention the actors are coming.
Hamlet wishes to confirm the identity of the ghost. He wishes to do so by having the actors put on a play based on his father's murder and he proposes that he is going to watch his uncle's reaction. If his uncle's action is apparent, then Hamlet will be sure that the ghost is his father telling him to get revenge.
Act 3: Scene 1: Polonius and claudius hide while Ophelia talks to Hamlet. Their goal is to see if Ophelia is the reason why Hamlet is mad.
The play is put on by the actors. Horatio shows up, and him and Hamlet agree to share notes on Claudius' reaction.
After the player king gets the poison poured into his ear, Claudius leaves the area. After, Gertrude asks to speak to Hamlet.
Going in to talk to his mother, the ghost appears to only the eyes of Hamlet. Gertrude believes that Hamlet is mad. Hamlet hears a noise coming from behind the curtains, he quickly motions and stabs the being, which happens to be polonius. He talks to his mother about her mistakes and ends with dragging Polonius offstage.
