Unit 8 Cattle was brought to Texas from Spain. There were so many cows that people came from everywhere to raise and sell them. Cattle drives were used to bring cattle to the north and sell them for more money. Because everyone had cattle the buisness busted and cattle became very cheap.
Unit 9 In 1901 at Spindletop a ton of oil was found. It was the first major oil strike in Texas. The rotary drill bit was the inventions that contributed to this find. People flooded Texas from everywhere try to get their hands on oil. Oil was being overproduced leading to oil being almost worth nothing.
The stock market crash is what started the great depression. Too many people were relying on credit to buy everything they need. Banks soon ran out of money and the economy was done for. Too many products were made and no body wanted it causing people to lose money. Farmers were struggling to survive due to the dustbowl.
