  • Ronald Adams is talking to his mother right before he leaves for his trip across the country to California. His mother warns him not to fall asleep, pick up strangers, nor drive too fast.
  • Climax
  • Ronald swerves on the Brooklyn Bridge, claiming to almost hitting a man. Ronald sees the man once again, on the Pulaski Skyway.
  • Falling Action
  • Ronald sees the man every other mile as he drives roads that seem endless. He then finds an auto camp and figures that he could pull himself together by calling and talking to a familiar voice.
  • Resolution
  • Ronald calls home and finds out that is mother is in the hospital due to a nervous breakdown. All because of the death of her son, Ronald himself. Ronald was killed 6 days prior on the Brooklyn Bridge.
  • Ronald tries to make sense of everything.
  • Ronald is trying to get ahold of himself, he's sitting outside the auto camp, thinking. He realizes that the man is waiting for him somewhere. And one day, he will know who he is. The man, and himself.
