Forensic Botanist normally begin their day researching and studying plant organisms and also how these plants interact and how they are effected by the environment. They may also have other cases they are working on.
Lindsey, forensic botanist, was called out to a scene where and body had been dumped in a lake. Her job is to find trace pollens on the clothes left around the lake and on the body.
When she arrives on the scene she takes samples off the body and clothes of the victim. She also takes samples of dirt and other pollens in the area to compare the samples off the victim.
She takes the samples back to the lab for analysis. After she has run many tests on the samples she discovers there were 2 pollens that did not match pollens native to that land.
After doing research and running more tests on the unknown pollens found on the victims clothes Lindsey found that they are commonly found in corn fields because they are artificial.
Investigators went to a corn field not far from where the body was dumped and discovered the murder weapon and other evidence. Forensic botany helped save this case and put a murderer in prison.
