I am so pleased you are here I am sorry to inform you...
I know it's too late, but I wanted to apologize for some of the mistakes I made as a mother when you were growing up.
Priscila hadn't heard from her mother for three years until this morning hen she received a call from the hospital to let her know that her mother was on her last leg. The bad memories she helped onto from her childhood were forgotten for a moment, but were the reason why she hadn't seen her in years.
Forgive you, mom.
The receptionist tells Priscila that her mother has a few weeks to live, and that she'd been trying to get in contact for a while now.
Priscila listened with open ears as her mother began apologizing for her failed marriage with Priscila's father when she was a baby. She then began talking about her teenage years, when she shouldn't have been so hard on Priscila and asked to be forgiven for kicking her out at 16.
I need to stop hurting my relationships with others by being unable to forgive.
After internally mourning the time she lost by not forgiving her mother earlier, Priscila spends her mothers remaining days with her trying to understand her position and influence in Priscila's life.
Although God is the true provider of forgiveness, the hardest things to do are forgiving other people and ourselves. Priscila was overcome with sadness and regret for not opening her heart to her mother earlier.
Not too long after, Priscila's mother Margret passes in her sleep. Priscila sits on her mother's old hospital bed to reflect and comes to the conclusion that her forgiveness of her mother set her own soul free and that it brought her mother healing.
