Storyboard Text

  • Southern States
  • We believe our slaves should be counted in our population! The smaller states need more representatives in congress so we can make more laws!
  • Slaves should be counted in the taxation for the state!
  • Northern States
  • Slaves are not people and should not be counted for the population for southerns state!
  • This is fair for all of the states, we can agree!
  • We agree on this great plan!
  • In order of the disagreements, we will count 3/5ths of the slaves as the population and taxation of each state. This is called the 3/5ths compromise.
  • Good compromise!
  • We only want an executive branch also!
  • Federalists
  • We want a strong, central government without a Bill of Rights because the constitution is is the only document we need
  • We want a weak central government, weaker than the states, and to only amend the Articles of Confederation. We also need a Bill of Rights to protect the people.
  • Anti-Federalists
  • Good idea!
  • This is something fair for both Federalists and Anti-Federalists!
  • We both agree to make a constitution as long as we add a Bill of Rights later to protect all of the people's rights.
