Storyboard Text

  • I must get revenge on Fortunato and do it without getting caught.
  • The story takes place somewhere in Italy and it is about the narrator wanting revenge on a man named Fortunato.
  • Both the Narrator and Fortunato love wine, so Fortunato is very curious to find out if the wine is really Amontillado. Also, Fortunato is very drunk and not really thinking.
  • I bought a pipe of Amontillado.
  • Impossible! In the middle of the carnival! Come show me.
  • There are no attendants in the narrator's house, so nobody knows that they are there. Also Fortunato has a cold, and the vaults are damp and encrusted with niter.
  • Maybe we shouldn't go because of your cold.
  • Nonsense, the cold is nothing. Come let us go.
  • The niter is really getting to Fortunato, making him cough a lot, but his passion for wine, and him being drunk drive him further into the vault.
  • Let us drink a draft of this Medoc (wine). It will defend us from the damps.
  • Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!-Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!-Ugh! Ugh! Ugh!
  • Once they reach the extremity of the niter the narrator chains Fortunato up against the wall. Next, the narrator starts using stone and mortar to build a wall with a trowel, blocking off the path to where Fortunato is.
  • Press your hand over the wall and feel the niter.
  • Uhhh... what about the Amontillado?
  • Fortunato thinks that the narrator is making a joke, and that they are just going to get the Amontillado and go to the palazzo. Also, we find out that the narrator's name is Montresor, and he finishes building the wall closing Fortunato off. Lastly Montresor calls out to Fortunato, but doesn't get a response.
  • Yes, for the love of God. Fortunato! Fortunato!
  • Ha! Ha! Ha!-He! He! He!-Good joke. For the love of God Montresor!
