Chapter 2

Storyboard Text

  • ¨Were on an island. Weve been on the mountaintop and seen water all round. We saw no houses, no smoke, no footprints, no boats, no people. Were on an uninhabited island with no other people on it.¨ (Golding 32)
  • Piggy
  • Ralph
  • Jack
  • ¨We'll have rules!¨ he cried excitedly. ¨Lots of rules!¨(Golding 33)
  • This next scene is important in chapter 2 because Jack is coming to his senses and realizing that since there are no adults on the island, that there will need to be rules said and followed by all the boys.
  • The reason that this is important in chapter 2 is because the boys are finally realizing that there is no one on the island besides them, and theyre going to have to stick together
  • Piggy
  • ¨A snake-thing. Ever so big. He saw it.¨ (Golding 35)
  • ¨A fire! Make a fire!¨(Golding 38)
  • Ralph
  • Then this next quote is important because the boys are just finding out that there is a ¨beast¨ on the island and the boys are scared now.
  • The last important part of chapter 2 is when Ralph found a way to make a signal that could attract anyone or anything to the island and discover that there are children on the island all alone.
