Soon after Paris leaves, Fair Lawrence speaks with Juilet and she threatens to kill herself because she does not want to marry Paris. Fair comes up with a plan for her to drink a potion which will stage her death so that way she wont have to marry Paris and can instead be reunited with Romeo
Juliet returns home and tells her parents that she is ready to marry Paris. They gladly move the wedding to Wednesday.
Juliet requests the nurse that she spend the night alone in her bedroom.
Juliet worries about the outcome of drinking the potion. She is afraid that something terrible could go wrong. She later has a vision about Tybalt's ghost chasing after Romeo. Finally, she toasts to Romeo and drinkins the potion.
The nest morning, the nurse finds Juliet "dead" and cries in sadness and is soon joined by Capulet and Lady Capulet. Later they are joined by Paris who arrives with Fair Lawrence and a group of musicians. Fair tries to remind them that she is now in a better place
Peter, a Capulet servant, argues with the musicians on whether or not to play a happy tune to lighten the mood. when the refuse, Peter gets angry and leaves.
