the narrator begins the story by saying "tomorrow i will die" which is a type of suspense called foreshadowing which gives us a clue that something will happen.

the black cat name pluto was his favorite animal, he had many other one's but he mostly loved the pluto.
why i just love this cat, my lovely furry friend.
one night after coming home at midnight, drunk suddenly he thinks the cat doesn't want to hang out anymore he starts to strangle the cat , and eventually starts to cut his eye out then hangs him to a tree.
"you stupid cat", "why does thou have to be so stupid"
That night, the night of the murder, the man's house catches fire and burns down. Only the man, his wife, and one servant are left alive. But, they lose all their money in the flames, along with the house.
One night when he's out drinking, another black cat appears on the scene. This cat looks just like Pluto, except for the little white spot on his chest. The man takes the cat home,
When it is discovered that this cat is also missing an eye, the man begins to despise it, while the woman loves it all the more.
