Fahrenheit to Celsius

Storyboard Text

  • And another example would be the human body. It is 98.6 degrees Fahrenheit, but in Celsius it is 37 degrees.
  • I'm so excited to go to South Africa. But the weather man said it is going to be 40 degrees outside so I brought my heavy coat.
  • And if you still don't get it, then the coldest possible temperature which is absolute zero measures at -273 degrees Celsius. But in Fahrenheit absolute zero is -459.4 degrees.
  • The U.S.A. is the only industrialized country to use the Fahrenheit scale.
  • You ignorant American, that is in Celsius not Fahrenheit.
  • Ok I think I get it! WOW!!! It's going to be 104 degrees Fahrenheit! Geez, I guess I won't be needing my heavy coat.
  • Ohhhh! So what will the temperature be in Fahrenheit?
  • Wow!! It's so great being in South Africa. It's just a bit hot. I guess I should pay more attention next time.
  • Well, the formula for finding Fahrenheit is F=C(9/5)+32. And for finding Celsius it is C=(F-32)*5/9
  • F=Fahrenheit C=Celsius
  • Yeah, so for example: Lead boils at 1620 degrees Celsius, so lead would boil at 2948 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Just plug in your numbers in the equation and then solve to find the temperature.
