Storyboard Text

  • I have a Minotaur! And I am not afraid to use it!
  • Theseus and the Minotaur
  • They are sent to be fed to the Minotaur!
  • I want that beast dead! And I will come back father!
  • Thank you Princess Ariadne!
  • There once was a powerful king of Crete called King Minos. He had a giant kingdom all for himself which overruled many of the kingdoms around him. In this kingdome was a massive maze. In the middle of the maze was an awful beast half human and half bull, called the Minotaur that loved to eat the flesh of humans
  • You must take me back to Athens with you!
  • Yes of course you helped me.
  • Every year King Aegean, the King of Athens, would have to send seven young men and seven young women. He had to do this to avoid a war with King Minos. His son, Theseus asks his father why none of them return, finding out they were send to be fed to the beast. Theseus was furious, and wanted that beast dead. So he decided to go with the next bunch to Crete, saying if he’d came back safely and killed the beast, he would switch his sail from from black to white.
  • Huh? Wait!
  • Theseus and the Minotaur battled, and Theseus wins! But survived because Princess Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos, gave him a piece of string to guide him back to the front of the maze, because she loved him. Without the string he would be lost in the darkness of the maze.
  • My son has failed!
  • On his way back Athens, Ariadne pleads to come back to Athens With Theseus, hoping to marry him. Theseus did not find her attractive...
  • So he stranded her on an island, lying to her that she should search for some bread and fruit. For his punishment, the Gods made him forget to switch the black flag to white
  • Theseus's father thinks he is dead, and with great grief he throws himself into the sea. In memory of Theseus's father, the sea he died in is now called the Aegean Sea.
