  • Reference books are books that are intended to be looked upon to find information on specific matters instead of reading a book from beginning to end.
  • Where do you find reference books?
  • You can find them normally in libraries, where you can look at them but not check them out. Also, you find digital reference books on the Internet.
  • How do you use reference books?
  • Reference books are usually alphabetically organized, so you just look at the top of the page for key words and find where your word/topic fits in. Also, if it is not organized alphabetically, look in the index or table of contents.
  • What can you find in a reference book?
  • You can find in depth and vague information, definitions and pronunciations, personal information, and much more.
  • Dictionary, Encyclopedia, Almanac, Directory, Handbook, Atlas, Thesaurus, and much more.
