  • I'M A PROTEIN.
  • In the first step of transcription a molecule unzips the DNA strand and copies it while making the mRNA. It goes all the way until it gets to the end point or the termination sequence in which the mRNA strand and the molecule breaks off the DNA double helix and goes into the cytoplasm.  If the DNA is read wrong by molecule it could cause the mRNA strand to be created with the wrong code.  This could cause the ribosome in the next step to be mixed up and the final protein won't function correctly.
  • In Translation a mRNA strand is floating through the cytoplasm. Then a ribosome comes in and attaches itself to the strand. The ribosome reads the mRNA strand and as it does the corresponding anti-codon (transferred by tRNA) attaches to the strand and the amino acid attaches to the one before and causes a protein chain to come into form, and it falls off when the ribosome reaches the end point of the mRNA.  If the ribosome reads the mRNA strand wrong it could cause a mutation (the amino acids got connected to the wrong amino acids) of the protein and the protein wouldn't be able to function correctly.
  • After the last tRNA strand disataches from the mRNA the amino acid chain fold back on its self then folds in to a specific form to and is now a working protein.
