Storyboard Text

  • I became what I am today in June 2015. When it comes to remembering the past, remembering this moment, it opened my eyes to what it being a leader is all about. Before this moment I was only learning about what a leader is, after my experience, I knew how to be a leader.
  • I remember the precise moment that we where conducting rappelling for the day, we had to rappel off a 50ft wall, 50ft skid, 30ft wall, and a 30ft skid.
  • Rappelling in my opinion was the funnest thing we I did at JCLC, the reason I think this is because when your at the top of the 50ft wall looking out on the horizon, feeling the winds flow through your ears, and feeling the tower move under your feet, and about to jump off, the amount of adrenaline you get is great, its such an adrenaline rush.
  • When you jump off and start rappelling on the wall, you feel the rope running through your harness, and the sense that your falling but you have a harness on, so it's like control falling. Once you reach the ground, your upset because now you realize that you have to climb the steps back up to do it again, because you want to do it again.
  • This moment impacted my life, in the sense that it opened my horizon to ways how to be a leader and what I can do to do that. I learned how to preform different ways of giving instruction and conducting actions as a leader. I grew from this experience by being exposed and being placed in leadership positions. My experience taught me how to be confident in giving orders and instruction to others.
  • In June 2015, at JCLC made me what I am today because of having fun, meeting new people, and last of all learning how to be a better leader.
