  • THE MOST DANGEROUS GAME/EXPOSITION
  • Characters: Zaroff, Whitney, Rainsford, Ivan Setting: a yacht and a mysterious island Mood: suspisious
  • CONFLICT
  • "The general said enthusiastically, 'Your brain against mine. Your woodcraft against mine. Your strength and stamina against mine... and if i dont find you by midnight of the 3rd day i will delcare defeat... but you must say nothing about this island" (74).
  • 1. "Rainsford," called the general, " if you are within the sound of my voice, which i suppoose you are, let me congradulate you. not many men know how to make a Malay man-catcher." (Connell 77). 2. Rainsford made a figure eight in the woods to make tracking more difficult. 3. "i'll see what you can do against my whole pack" said the general" (78). The dogs ended up chasing Rainsford a couple hours after and he survived the hounds.
  • RISING ACTION
  • To get away from the dogs he ended up jumping off a cliff into the ocean to escape, and he swam to the generals large house. Rainsford sat and waited for him there, "Rainsford how on earth did u get in here?!" (78)
  • CLIMAX
  • "I congratulate you," he said, "you have won the game" (60). Rainsford and Zaroff ended up dueling.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • RESOLUTION
  • "i am still a beast at bay," said Rainsford... "Splendid! one of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in the very excellent bed. On guard Rainsford" (60). Rainsford has never slept better
