  • Ivan the Terrible
  • Russian Impacts
  • More land/space for Russia.
  • Death
  • No more son to worry about.
  • Ivan came to throne in 1533 when he was only 3 years old. Once he was 16 years old he seized power and had himself crowned czar. He married Anastasia, who was related to an old boyar family, the Romanovs.
  • The Only Choice
  • I guess I am ruling now..
  • From 1547 to 1560, Ivan added lands to Russia, ruled justly, and he even gave Russia a code of laws. Later in Europe will have rules to follow and things will be more fair.
  • Romanov Dynasty
  • In 1581, Ivan killed his oldest son and heir. After he killed him 3 years later Ivan died. This can cause problems because later on it could cause problems by getting a ruler who is not as fair.
  • Conquering
  • The only choice that was left was for his second son to rule. He was not the best choice, but that was all they had left and he was weak. When his son eventually died later on, Michael Romanov was the next czar in 1613. After Michael ruled it could lead Europe into having better leaders in the future.
  • Once Michael Romanov ruled the Romanov dynasty began, which ruled Russia for 300 years from 1613 to 1917.
  • When Ivan succeeded in conquering Siberia and assigned master to the peasants who worked the lands around an estate is when his rule became absolute.
