  • Approach to Inmost Cave (Dark Moment)
  • The Supreme Ordeal/Final Conflict
  • The Reward
  • Perseus creeps up to the cave of the Gorgons. after using his winged-sandals to get on the island.  He is ready, equipped with the gifts from Athena and Hermes and the Nymphs. If Perseus succeeds, he will complete the quest and gain fame. 
  • The Road Back
  • Perseus enters the cavernous cave of the Gorgons, sword and shield ready. He uses the shield as a mirror to see Medusa, so he doesn't turn into stone. With one swipe of the sword, Medusa's head is cut off and put into Perseus' magic wallet. 
  • The Resurrection (Atonement)
  • With Medusa's head in his wallet, Perseus gets ready to head back home. He narrowly escapes the other two Gorgons, and flies away with his sandals. Once he was home, he could show his prize and gain fame and defend his mother from Polydectes.
  • Return with the Elixir
  • On the journey home, Perseus came across Andromeda being tormented by a sea monster. He slayed the beast and won her as his bride. Along with Medusa's head, Perseus also won the love of a beautiful woman.
  • Perseus has now completed the perilous journey and returned home. He decides to turn Polydectes to stone, ending his cruel leadership forever. His kind brother, Dictys takes up the mantle of leader now. Perseus has defended his mother, saved his people, won love, and slayed Medusa.
  • Perseus returns to Argos with his mother, Danae and his wife, Andromeda. Enjoying his life, he attends a game in another city, and competes in a discus competition. That discus hits King Acrisius in the head, thus killing him. The prophecy of the oracle was fulfilled after many years.
