OH MY GOSH! ARE YOU Kenny Washington
Kenny Washington was born on August 31, 1918, in Los Angeles . Kenny was raised mostly by his grandmother, and his uncle Rocky. As a kid Washington was very athletic, and led his football team to the championship. Kenny was drafted to the Los Angeles Rams in 1946, and broke the color barrier. Sadly Washington retired in 1948 only two years after he joined the NFL. Kenny Washington died at the age of 52, in Los Angeles because of heart problems.
•Kenny Washington is in the hall of fame for the NFL. Kenny Washington is most popularly know because he was the first African American to play in the NFL. At the time he played(1930's) he was one of the best in the game.
Kenny Washington was important because he set a long line of examples for future hall of famers in football. He broke the color barrier for football. Without Kenny we would have not had hall of famers like Walter Peyton, Barry Sanders, or Jerry Rice. Although Kenny Died at a young age he set an example for many young African Americans not only enjoyed football, but any other sport that had a color barrier.
