  • Setting The Background
  • Mum, I'm busy, I'm reading "Alice in Wonderland".
  • Ok, tomorrow I'll call him. I keep reading. I'm so hooked...
  • Fernanda, you are always studying. You are not so young, and you should think about getting a boyfriend. What about calling Roberto? He's so nice and he belongs to a good family.
  • Fernanda's Social Life
  • Ok, great idea. We'll meet next Saturday at the café opposite my house. See you.
  • Hi, Roberto. How are you? No, now it's impossible. I am watching an amazing play by Wilde...
  • Hi, Fer. I'm Roberto. I was wondering if you could settle on this weekend. I'd like to see you.
  • Ah, ok, you're always busy. Let's hope you can next Saturday.
  • Mum, I'm really excited. Yesterday I got the mark of the history test. And I passed it with an A. I am thinking now about my future and I am looking forward to teaching English, although I'll get some weeks off to relax .
  • Fer's Life Expectations
  • Yes, mum don't worry, I have already seen him several times and next Saturday we're having dinner together.
  • Congratulations, Fer. I'm so proud of you. But you are only concerned about English and teaching and now relax!! Why don't you relax by meeting Roberto? You're 23, Fer!!
  • Fernanda is an obedient daughter and student who has always dreamt of being a happy ... teacher. She is studying English philology since she adores English culture. And she spends a lot of time reading, listening to music and studying. She is not worried about boyfriends! She lives in Madrid and she has a wonderful family, but her mum has a bit old-fashioned ideas, and she has always told her she has to marry a good "catch" and have children soon.
  • Final Trigger
  • I work very much, Fer. But I am the boss and have many responsibilities and we'll need plenty of money for our children. By the way, will you marry me?
  • Fernanda is at the theatre watching "The Importance of Being Earnest". She loves English plays and whenever she wants, she goes to the theatre with her friends. At that moment Roberto (her mother's friend' son) calls her. He wants to meet her because he has always liked her, but she cannot now. The problem is that the previous weekend he phoned her too, and she was at a concert, so she couldn't accept it, either. This time he's luckier.
  • On the Way
  • After so many days together, you haven't told much about your life, but only about your adorable pup Romeo.
  • Fer is very happy. Last week she did her last exam and now she has finished her degree in English philology. She tells her mum about her life dreams. She wants to travel before starting to be a teacher. However, her mother asks her to meet Roberto. She thinks he is a perfect husband for her daughter, and she is really worried about Fer's priorities in life. Fernanda tells her mum she has already met Roberto and that they are going to have dinner the following weekend.
  • The Happy Dénouement
  • I pronounce you man and wife.
  • Fernanda is having dinner with Roberto. They have gone out on several occasions. Roberto is completely in love with Fernanda and wants to marry her. He is already 26 years old and thinks, as Fernanda's mum, that they are old enough to get married and have a family. However, Fernanada thinks he is too boring for her and he does not like English literature or music. So when he proposes her marriage, he decides to think about it.
  • He is always talking about work, money and family. He's so boring. I need a rest and break away from everything.
  • You're so kind, Roberto. But let me think.
  • Fernanda needs time to think and she decides to go on a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. She walks alone to reflect about Roberto's proposal, but soon she meets an adorable puppy and his owner (another Roberto!!), a bit hippie young man from Newcastle. He has lived in Spain for some years and teaches English! After some days together speaking about life, they fall in love with each other.
  • I am from Newcastle in England. I love Spain and my dog. I also love travelling, music and plays, but my real passion is teaching. I teach English at a school in a small town in Alicante.
  • I love him so much
  • Fernanda and Roberto II spend an idyllic pilgrimage and they soon decide to get married since they know they are made for each other. Finally, they get married in a small village in Galicia. Then , Fer decides to phone her mum to tell her she is really happy since she has married Roberto, but Roberto Taylor, the loving hippie teacher she met two weeks ago.
  • Hi, mum. I have both good and bad news for you. The good is that I've married Roberto. But the bad news is that I'm moving to Alicante, where your new son-in-law lives. I'm so happy with him and his dog.
  • Poor mum and Roberto I.
