Storyboard Text

  • Hey Jenna, I have a question about math!
  • Ok! Lets go to the beach to talk about it!
  • Ok so the problem is... I don't know how to find the difference between two integers!
  • Ok, Nova, its easy all you have to do is slice before you add and subtract
  • Ok!
  • Lets do an example, 28-17. We know the answer will be positive because there is a bigger positive number so the answer will be 11!
  • Ok I get it so -8-7 would be -15 because its two negatives! And 5=10 is 15!
  • Lets do -21+3! The bigger number is a negative so where going to do 21-3 to get 18 but make it -18 because the bigger number is negative! And -7=7 would be zero because they cancel out. For multiplying and dividing if it is two negative or two positive the answer is positive. if its positive and a negative the answer will be a negative!  For an example -4*3=-12 because its a negative and a positive so the answer will be a negative!
  • Ok I get it lets go to the diner to get food!
  • If we do -9*-2 the answer will be 18 because  two negatives equal a positive. For -9 divided by 3 the answer is -3! For -15 divided by -3 the answer is 5!
  • Thanks for helping me!
  • Anytime!
