Man vs. Man
Man vs. Nature
Man vs. Society
It was Man vs. Man because the boy wanted to help Santiago on his boat but his parents made him fish on another boat. On page 10 the boy says "It was papa, he made me leave. I am a boy and I must obey him".
It was Man vs. Nature because the old man was fighting to catch and kill the fish. On page 92 he says "Fish, you are going to have to die anyway. Do you have to kill me too?"
It's Man vs. Society becaus no one believed the man was lucky enough to catchy a fish. On the first page, the author says "after forty days without a fish the boy's parents had told him that the old man was now definitely and finally salao, which is the worst form of unlucky,".
