  • Montresors was justified in killing Fortunato.
  • Analysis
  • Fortunato injured Montresors many times and insulted him therefore, why he wanted revenge on Fortunato.
  • Conclusion
  • It states "The thousand injuries of Fortunato I had borne as best as I could, but when he ventured upon insult I vowed revenge" (Poe 866). Also, "No one insults without punishment" (Poe 31).
  • My evidence supports my claim by my evidence says Fortunato injured him thousands of times then insulted Montresors and my claim is he got injured many times and then insulted which brought him to revenge of killing Fortunato. Do to the fact that bis family motto was you can't insult our family without punishment, and he insulted his family which led to the punishment of death/
