#### Storyboard Text

• Hello, I'm Scout the dog, and that is my friend, Kitty. Today we're going to teach you how to solve 2-step equations!
• Don't forget, before you start, write the equation down and draw a T-chart.
• Now, lets "dive" in!
• Start with this equation, y/2+16=32. The first thing you want to do is use inverse operations on the +16 to get rid of it. Don't forget, Equality property of Multiplication says that what you do on one side, you have to do on the other. Just check where Kitty's tail is pointing.
• y/2 + 16 = 32 - 16 = - 16
• Now we use inverse operation of division, which is multiplication. Also use the Equality Property of Multiplication to multiply the other side. And with that, your answer is 32.
• y/2 = 16 *2 = *2 y = 32
• It's not that hard to solve 2-step equations. As you see, it's pretty simple! Don't freak out, just relax, like me & Kitty! Wow, hot tubs are fun!
