  • Act III Scene II
  • O God, did Romeo's hand shed Tybalt's blood?
  • In this act, Romeo & Juliet find a hardship that separates them. They are anxious to reunite, and they are bummed that they are separated.
  • Act III Scene III
  • My lord, I'll tell my lady that you will come.
  • Despite Benvolio's advice to settle the hostility between Tybalt and Mercutio, they fight it out; Mercutio gets killed. In revenge, Romeo comes in, and fights Tybalt to the death, killing Tybalt.
  • Act III Scene IV
  • Prepare her, wife, against this wedding day.
  • This shall determine that.
  • As a result of Tybalt's killing, Romeo is banished from the town. The Nurse tells Juliet that Romeo killed their cousin, so she is conflicted between love and hate.
  • Act III Scene V
  • That same villain, Romeo.
  • After Romeo's sentence of banishment, he hides at Friar Laurence's church. The nurse comes, and reassures him that things should be okay.
  • Since Romeo is gone, Juliet is forced to marry Paris. Lord Capulet shows his excitement of the wedding.
  • The Capulet parents prepare for the wedding, but they have to deal with Juliet's crabbiness. Juliet shows compassion for Romeo, unlike her parents, which is shown in her soliloquy.
