when twelve year old florence boards the horse drawn coach in London, she looks forward to a new life at Crutchfield Hall, her great uncle's manor house in the English countryside. Anything will be better, Florence thinks, than the grim London orphanage she has just left. Florence doesn't reckon with the eerie presence that haunts the carernus rooms and dimly lit hallways of Crutchfield. It's ghost of her cousin Sophia's, who died the year before. Sophia's ghost seeks to recreate the scene of her death and cause someone else to die in her place so that she will be restored to life.And she intends to forcce her newly arrived cousin to help her.
you should read this book because it is really entertaining, scary. and creepy.
Take care of this girl, she's an orphan, you know, and never set foot out of London. Make sure she gets where she's going safely.

Follow the drive way till you come to the house, it's one or two miles i reckon. a big place with chimneys. pity there's no one to meet you.
florence got to her uncle's house. she is afraid of going inside. she is so excited to she her uncle but at the same time she is scared.
florence is at her uncle's house. the workers welcome her to the big house but she is scared. while she was goi ng to her room up the stairs he halls were dark.
florence is trying to go to sleep but she cant she hears a cat outside, she has the chills. she gets up to the window to see whats going on . but the widow is pitch black
