Price 1/2 Steam makes most of its money though selling video games from their online store ; the creators of the game you are buying set the price of the game and steam takes 20% out of each purchase. The other way steam makes money online is via the marketplace every time a player sells an item they take 5% of the profit made.
Price 3/4 The way steam makes money out of physical stores is though selling physical game discs which they keep all the profits for the second way they make money out of stores is basically credit by selling steam cards which put money on your steam account but you cant turn it back into real money if you don't use it. the cards can sell for $20,$50, and $100
(holds a steam card / then picks up a video game)
Places Steam does not have a complex system of places where you can buy their games their main stores are : The online store , and physical stores such as Walmart, Game stop and Micro center
Promotion 1/2/3/4 Like every other company steam must promote their product. But steam does not promote the games they sell via TV or YouTube they must rely on the game developers to do that the way they get you to buy the games is to shove them in your face every time you look at the steam store. Page upon page of random games. But how do they promote steam its self? They do this by putting the steam logo on any thing they can : Posters, Game cases , and of course their steam cards
So no madder what if your a business online or in real life in order to function you must follow the 3 P's of marketing : Product Price Place And Promotion
