  • "The Scarlet Ibis": On Pride

  • "The Scarlet Ibis" On Appreciation 
  • It so pretty 
  • "The Scarlet Ibis" On Guilt
  • DON'T LEAVE ME!!
  • In "The Scarlet Ibis" the brother teaches Doodle how to walk because he is embarrassed of him.  The theme of the story is that to much pride can hurt others.
  • "Simon Birch" On Faith
  • LISTEN TO ME!!!
  • In the story the brother took Doodle down to Old Woman Swamp Doodle began to cry saying how pretty it was. The theme is that everyone should appreciate everything and everyone one no matter how small or how different it is. 
  • "Simon Birch" On Life
  • In "The Scarlet Ibis" the narrator has guilt for his brother's death because he still rethinks about how he treated his brother leading up to his death and the day he ran while his brother was frighten by the storm.
  • "Simon Birch" On Tolerance
  • The theme is to never stop having faith. In the movie simon has faith that god has  a plan for everyone and that his plan is to be a hero so he was made the way he is, throughout the movie he has everyone telling him the opposite in the end he proves them wrong when the bus crashes and is sinking. 
  • Throughout the movie Simon Birch, Joe loses all his family, and his one best friend but he doesn't stay in the same thoughts of sadness and depression he carries on with happiness and acceptance. The theme is that in spite of the bad tragedies and death life continues.
  • In the movie only very few people accept simon for the way he looks and the way he is. Everyone else sees him as a big disappointment. The theme of this movie is to accept and appreciate others and their differences.
