LEDC's and MEDC's
Less Economically Developed Countries (LEDC's)
They include countries in Africa like Ethiopia and Mali.
LEDCs can be identified by three main factors: The people have low incomes. They have poor nutrition, health care, and education. The economy is unstable.
Poorer Countries are less economically developed.
They include countries in Asia like Afganistan and Nepal.
More Economically Developed Countries (MEDC's)
They include countries in Europe like Britain and France.
MEDC's can be identified by: Industrial development. Good education. Good health care. A strong economy
Richer Countries are more economically developed.
They also include countries like Canada and America
GNP is the value of all finished goods and services produced in a country in one year by its nationals.
GNP - Gross National Product is used to measure the gap between LEDC's and MEDC's.
