Odysseus and twelve fighters found their way into a cave - and the men contributed a great idea, but Odyesseus refused; wanting to see the cave man. They brought gifts to honor him as their host. (Food and liquor.)
When the caveman came back (who turned out to be a Cyclops), he trapped the men by an extremely heavy rock, and feasted on some of Odysseus's men.
Perhaps we can get out of here! It would take four other men - but a nice stake will hurt this Cyclops greatly!!
Odysseus and his men go through with Odysseus's plan, and Odysseus gives the precious wine he brought to the Cyclops to lull him to sleep. Then, they creep over to him and stab him in the eye with a giant stake!
...Good Wine... ...Thank you... ...Nohbdy...
When Odysseus and his men stabbed the Cyclops in his giant eye; the Cyclops went outside and protected the door, feeling around for men. What the Cyclops didn't know was that the sheep that were running from the mountain cave he kept feeling were holding his prisoners on their bellies, letting them escape with ease.
The captured men, thanks to Odysseus, were returned safely to their ship; escaping the evil, now blinded, Cyclops! The men rejoiced with THEIR captures (the sheep) and relaxed - hoping for an easy journey home.
