  • Initial event
  • "Cassie called thirty-three times,starting at 11:30 saturday night"(Anderson 12).
  • "Lia?Its me.Call me." Cassie.Second message "Where are you.Call me back."(Anderson 12).
  • "Thank god your'e safe...We'll talk later"(Anderson 35).
  • Propels the action by
  • "She called and called and called and waited for me to pick up. 1.2.3.4.5.6.7.8.9.10..."(Anderson 35).
  • Outcome
  • "I think we should consider a psychiatric-care facility"(Anderson 250).
  • You think I made it up,"I say."You dont believe that I see ghosts."(Anderson 250).
  • Cassie died in a hotel room because of her wanting to loose more weight.Lia got many calls from Cassie that same night when she died.
  • Initial event
  • "Must.Not.Eat.Must.Not.Eat.Must.Not.Eat...".(Anderson 187).
  • "Must.Not.Eat.Must.Not.Eat.Must.Not.Eat...".(Anderson 187).
  • This propells the action by Lia feeling guilt about not answering or recieving the calls and responding to them because of her fight with Cassie.So this event causes lia to starve herself more and cut herself more.

  • "Grapefruit half=37,dry toast=77),a giant mug of electrolyte drink (=?) and pretty pills(=white velvet sheets wrapped around my brain)"(Anderson 239).
  • Lia begins to be put into hospitals and worked with and her mental worker dr. Parker always judges her and tells her how she will go to a mental hospital.
  • Outcome
  • "Come home soon"(Anderson 277).
  • Lia does not eat and she starves herself.She continues with her tries to fasten her metabolism by trying to eat less and change herself.
  • With this behavior her own father does not let her live with him and does not let her see her own stepsister Until she goes through treatment that heals her to eat again.
  • She tries harder and runs away so she could soon be better.But eventually gets better by the end of the novel and after many hospital treatments she will be able to reunite with her father and sister.
  • "Her hug makes me strong enough to carry the entire world on my shoulders...I'm almost ready"(Anderson 277).
