  • Act One
  • I have to- she won't gimme the fifty cents...
  • Cause we don't have it?
  • What you tell the boy things like that for?
  • Act One
  • They spirited all right ,my children. Got to admit they got spirit-Bennie and Walter.
  • Act Two
  • In beginning of act one it starts out with Ruth,Walter, and Travis. They are all in the kitchen having eggs for breakfast. When Travis asks for fifty cents and Ruth tells him they don't have money. So Walter than gets into a small fight about why she told her son she does not have the money, and that's not right.
  • Act Two
  • Nothing - except cut it off.
  • What have you done to your head-I mean your hair!
  • The Welcoming Committee. They said they're sur going to be glad to see you when you get there.
  • Mama is talking to Ruth while looking at her plant and sprinkling a little water on it. What mama does not notice is that Ruth have lost consciousness and has fainted. Ruth has a lot of health problems.
  • Act Three
  • What he want?
  • The mom notice that the money is gone, and that Walter has given the money to one of his friends.
  • Act Three
  • He did? You ain't old enough to marry nobody.
  • Mama, Asagai asked me marry him today and go to Africa-
  • Beneatha does not know what to do with her life boy problems,and her hair. Beneatha always has to give her self a new hairstyle.
  • The whole family told Mama about the Welcoming committee. That made mama's day and Mama couldn't believe them.
  • To welcome you, honey.
  • He said the one thing they don't have, that they just dying to have out there is a fine family of fine colored people!
  • Beneatha is really happy because Asagai asked her to marry him and go to Africa with him. She thinks is a good idea because she can be a doctor over there.
