Storyboard Description

This is all about Physical and Chemical changes and discovering objects' properties

Storyboard Text

  • Well, we are looking for changes in matter in our natural surroundings, so we will be outside today!
  • Professor, what are we learning today?
  • Spotting changes in matter in our surroundings!
  • What?
  • I'll explain later. Come on!
  • Wow, cool! But how do we discover these properties you mentioned?
  • Matter can be changed in a few different ways. There are also properties discovered by them. Physical changes change an object's physical appearance, but a chemical change changes the object altogether.
  • Good question. Physical properties can only be found by physically changing a substance. One of the physical properties of paper is its texture. Notice the difference between the paper in my hand and the paper on the desk? They have different appearances and textures, but they are the same substance: paper.
  • Sweet! But what about chemical properties? How can you chemically change paper?
  • Wow that is super cool! Wait, isn't this a physical change though?
  • That is actually surprisingly easy, just burn the paper! Then, it will turn into black ash, a whole new substance!
  • No, because it makes a new substance!
  • Well, thanks professor, for telling me how matter can be changed!
  • Don't mention it!
  • Gotta run for literature, so goodbye!
  • Goodbye! Your appearance sure looks different when you're running ! Bye!
