  • calm down its just a lunar eclipse.
  • An eclipse occurs when one object enters the umbra, the darker shadow, or the penumbra, the lighter shadow, of another object.
  • bark?
  • In this case, the moon has entered the earth's umbra. only longer wavelengths of light, such as red, reach the moon, giving it its odd color.
  • Right now it is a total lunar eclipse because the moon is fully red. If it wasn't fully red, it would be a partial lunar eclipse.
  • A Lunar eclipse can be seen from anywhere on Earth, as long as it is nighttime where you're viewing from.
