  • I've had plenty of opportunities to experiment on you
  • Prendick goes down to the sea and create a new plan. With Montgomery and Moreau hunting him, he can sneak to the enclosure and get a gun.
  • Chapter 14
  • I am helping mankind out by creating these creations
  • Montgomery asks Prendick what he's doing. Prendick runs into the ocean and says he's going to drown himself rather than become one of Moreau's experiments.
  • Chapter 14
  • Moreau and Montgomery drop their revolvers to prove themselves. Moreau also mentions that he has already had plenty of opportunities to experiment on Prendick if he had wanted to.
  • Chapter 14
  • The beast folks are inspired by the kanakas
  • Moreau believes what he is doing is not immoral. Quite the opposite, since pain will be "ground out of existence by evolution". He says he's helping mankind by discovering God's laws through the pain on the animals.
  • Moreau wanted to do better. So he kept bringing animals to the island and vivisecting them until they became more like humans. Each time, he performs a bit better, but he still sees the imperfections
  • The Kanakas, they're all gone. Some died by accident, some of them left, and one was murdered by one of Moreau's half-finished creations. However, the Kanakas's teachings still influence the Beast Folk and their society.
