Storyboard Text

  • If the British come by land give me one lantern if by sea give me two lanterns.
  • yes sir.
  • Two lanterns were hung, i am leaving now.
  • Get him!
  • Oh man!
  • In Paul Reveres deposition it talks about how he discusses signals with his friend, so he knows how the British are transporting themselves to Lexington. It pretty much states the same thing in Longfellow's poem. In the poem it states almost the same thing as the deposition,"One if by land, and two if by sea."This means how many lanterns are going to be hung.
  • The red coats are coming! The red coats are coming!
  • Paul ends up getting the signals and is off on his ride. He kept his promise to Colonel Conant, and he would warn Hancock, Adams and the colonists. Paul states,"I had set off on a very good horse" . He was prepared and ready for the ride of his life! This is very similar to the poem only, more detailed It states the same important events as the deposition.
  • Good luck guys, I'm out.
  • Get them!
  • As Paul set off passing Charleston Neck he saw two men on horseback under a tree. He could not tell who they were until he got closer and discovered that they were,"Two British officers!" He was then chased but was able to get away. It does not talk about this very important beginning to his ride in the poem, in which it should because that could've been crucial to the revolution. If turned out wrong
  • Shot heard round the world.
  • Paul states,"I alarmed almost every house, til i got to Lexington." In the poem it says pretty much the exact thing only exaggerating it so it sounds even more heroic. In his deposit ion it talks about how he took breaks and how he had help , he wasn't alone. Paul warned Hancock and Adams, then waited for Dawes to arrive and they we're off to Concord.
  • As Paul and Dawes were on their way they met up with Dr.Prescott, and he decided to join them. They were on their way and then something stopped them. "In an instant i was surrounded by four." British officers had surrounded them they tried to get way but weren't able to from how armed the British were. That is the case for Paul and Dawes, Prescott managed to get away. In the poe it does not state at all about Revere getting captured, it wants you to think it was the perfect ride.
  • Nooooooo
  • The British were harsh and were hard to get by. After a little while Paul managed to get away with his smart lies. One thing Paul said was,"There will be 500 Americans there in a short time." He ended up back in Lexington and told Hancock, and Adams everything. Shortly after the British arrived, the Americans were ready. In little time the first shots of the revolution were fired. It does refer to these first shots fired in the poem by stating,"How you know the rest, how the British fired and fled."
