  • Setting: 10:00 pm; dark street in New York; early 1900's  Tone: mysterious  Characters: Bob, Jimmy Wells, and undercover policeman 
  • Climax
  • Jimmy has to decide whether or not to arrest his friend or let him go 
  • Falling Action
  • Bob talks to a policeman about waiting for an old friend to meet him after twenty years. He assures the policeman his friend will show up, and he says he'll wait 30 minutes beyond the meeting time.
  • Resolution
  • A man believed by Bob to be Jimmy greets him and they take a walk and stop under a street light where they can both see each other's faces clearly. Bob realizes the man is not Jimmy and the man tells him he has been under arrest for 10 minutes.
  • The undercover policeman gives Bob a note, telling him its from patrolman Wells 
  • Bob reads the note from Jimmy which indicates that he recognized him as the wanted man, so he sent someone else to arrest him because he couldn't do it himself.
