  • "Aaah a bear", "shoo it". “No you didn’t,” she yelled “You have shot our dog. You wicked boy – you shall be punished.”
  • "I got it"
  • He sat in the hut, thinking and thinking. “That was not our dog. The noise of it falling was too big and heavy for a dog. Why is she lying to me? Why has she left me in this horrible place?”
  • “I can’t stay,” said she, “or step-mother will miss me. But I will come when I can.”
  • He thanked her, and he knew it was a bear meat.
  • “We loons can see well,”. “Everyday we dive deep down into the lake. If you will trust me, I will take you deep down into the lake to wash away your blindness."
  • and the loon. “Why are you staring so with those strange eyes?”
  • "Yes, Please."
  • I am blind.
  • “I will tie the harpoon line around my waist," she said. “That way I will be the brace and we can pull together to haul the whale to the shore."
  • A blind boy good in hunting lives with his stepmother and sister. They run out food and a bear came to attack them. Stepmother told the boy shoot him and he did, since she hates him she told him that he killed the dog. She punished him and took him to a far hut and left him there alone. The mother and the sister have enough food for long time. The sister brings some food to her brother without her mother noticing. The boy went to the end of a lake and there was a loon. The loon told the boy that he can wash his blindness. The bird keeps diving him down the water until he sees everything. He pretends that he is still bind and his stepmother told him to hunt a small whale and she is going to help him. The loon puts the harpoon on the huge whale and the whale pulled and she finally sank. The boy was looking at her from far while she was sinking.
