Storyboard Text

  • I, James Madison, propose that our government's legislative branch favor the larger states.
  • Well, how do you suppose we do that?
  • Each state's amount of representatives should be based on their population.
  • I completely disagree with that.
  • The amount of representation should be equal for every state, so even small states get represented.
  • Roger, how about you choose which plan is better.
  • Sure! That sounds like a "Great Compromise!"
  • Why choose one when you can combine both? If we have a bicameral legislative branch, then we could population based House, and an equal representation Senate. Does that sound fair enough?
  • The End
