Storyboard Text

  • I think that the people should have their own rights to vote for their president! That's why I gave them rights.
  • The people shouldn't be choosing who should be president! They don't have the knowledge that the electoral college has to pick a president.
  • In 1882, Andrew Jackson and Quincy Adam fought over who should be president. It caused so many problems. I think that Jackson SHOULD NOT be on the $20 bill. First of all Jackson made the decision that people should have voting rights, which the government saw was wrong. This was called the Jacksonian Democracy.
  • I am going to replace all you officials with MY supporters!
  • The second thing that I think that Jackson did wrong was that he gave the jobs of the government officials to his "supporters". This was called the spoils system. This made the government officials angry but they couldm't do anything about it.
  • You can't do that! It is against the law!
  • I can do whatever I want! You have three days to get out!!!
  • You can't kick us out of this land, it is ours! We have lived here our whole lives!
  • The third thing that Jackson did wrong was drive the Native Americans out of because there was source of gold where they were and the white people thought they would cause problems. This was called or is The Indian Removal Act.
  • You need to leave this land, I have claimed this land as mine now. We have found some value to this land.
  • I promise I will fix everything or at least try to help everyone with their problems. Just give me a chance.
  • The third thing that Jackson did wrong was leaving all those problems he couldn't handle or finish to Quincy Adams. The Northeast, South, and the West did not agree with each other on anything. This was later debated a the "State's Rights". This was the number one reason was Jackson shouldn't be honored for his work.
  • You need to lower the price on pieces of land! Also lower the tariffs or just get rid of them
  • All the improvements that Jackson was going to make has spilt the country! How is that going to be fixed?!?
  • The banks shouldn't be trusted with money! They also have to much power in there hands. They are considered unconstitutional!!
  • The fourth thing was that Jackson thought that the banks were to powerful and that they were "UNCONSTITUTIONAL". But the supreme court fought against that. He didn't think that the banks shouldn't be trust with money. He wanted to get rid of the banks before his presidency was up. This was the War on National Banks.
  • The banks can be trusted, you just have trust issues. The bank is not considered unconstitutional. They can have as much power as they want. You can't really do anything about it.
  • The final thing that he did was make people use different substances to pay. He later than left office and thought that he did a great job, but in the end he didn't. When Martin Van Buren came into office a panic started to spread, people wanted paper money so they went to the banks and exchange it for their gold and silver. This was later known as the "Panic of 1837". These are all the reasons why Jackson shouldn't be on the $20 bill. Thank you for reading this!!!
  • Everyone, calm down! I have decided that everyone will know use gold and silver to pay instead of money
