So far we have talked about aerobic respiration, now lets talk about anaerobic.
There are two versions of Anaerobic Respiration which are Lactic Acid Fermentation, and Alchohol Fermentation.
This fermentation occurs in animal cells which include ours.
Lactic Acid Fermentation.
In this process pyruvate that we made in glycolysis is turned into lactic acid and two ATP
This fermentation occurs in yeast. It breaks down glycolysis into alcohol, CO2, and two ATP.
Aerobic Respiration 36-38 ATP -2 from glycolysis -2 from Krebs Cycle -34 from ETC
Total ATP Produced
Anaerobic Respiration 2-4 ATP
