Storyboard Text

  • George it is hot, stinky, and there are bugs everywhere. Also we still don't know what to do about the states and their Bill of Rights.
  • Well then ask James Madison; he is always taking notes so he will know what to do, and don't talk about this in public; we have to keep it a secret.
  • Hello James Madison, George Washington told me to ask you about the Bill of Rights.
  • Well I came up with an idea. I made a list of 12 rights for the people and now we just need congress to pass them.
  • Parker Jett
  • Good but now we have to deal with whether slaves count as people when voting.
  • Good news! I have narrowed the list of rights down to 10!
  • Later at Independence hall where the Constitutional Convention has its meeting and one is going on right now.
  • Now a member of the Constitutional Convention is meeting with James Madison about the bill of rights.
  • I am glad that the bill of rights is off our back, but now we have to figure out what to do about whether slaves count as people or not.
  • Why don't we count each slave as 3/5's of a person so that the north and south get a little of what they want.
  • Now the list of rights that James Madison made will be judged for which will go on the bill of rights and which will not.
  • Later back at Independence hall the Constitutional Convention is discussing what to do about if slaves get a vote because the south thinks that they should but the north thinks that they shouldn't.
  • Now the meeting is going on at Independence hall.
