  • Hazel thinks to herself "He looked my age, maybe a year older." (9)
  • Propels the Action by...
  • "'My name is Agustus Waters, I'm seventeen. I had a little touch of osteosarcoma a year and a half ago, but I'm just here today at Issac's request.'" (11)
  • "His voice was low, smoky, and dead sexy"(11)
  • •"'I would tell Him myself but unfortunately I am literally stuck inside of his heart, so he won't be able to hear me' I laughed. He shook his head, just looking at me.
  • Outcome
  • "'We are literally in the heart of Jesus,' he said (16)
  • "Someone should tell Jesus" (16)
  • "'But then again, maybe it will come along, and you will be glad you saved your wish.'" (89)
  • Hazel sees Agustus for the first time ever. She has things running through her mind about him and that she is attracted to him.

  • "'But I didn't save my wish.'" (89)
  • As Hazel finally gets to hear what Agustus sounds like she practically falls head over heels for him. And this is a small spark in her relationship towards him.

  • "'Ah, but I saved mine.'" (89)

  • "'I got it in exchange for the leg, now I'm not going to give you my wish, but I also have interest in meeting Peter Van Houten'"(89)
  • This is the First real conversation that Hazel and Augustus had and it foreshadows an amazing relationship forming.
  • Outcome
  • Agustus suggests that Hazel and he use a wish from the make a wish foundation so they can go meet their favorite author.
  • Agustus explains to Hazel that he saved his wish from the Genies and they could use his to see the Author.
  • This is the point when Agustus tells Hazel he wants to take her to see Peter Van Houten in Amsterdam
