Napoleon Bonaparte was born on August 15, 1769, in Ajaccio, on the Mediterranean island of Corsica.
He graduated from a French military academy in 1785.
The French Revolution (1725–1807) had begun.
Napoleon started his new command of the Army of Italy and he engineered the signing of a treaty that gave France control of Italy.
Napoleon returned to Paris a hero, and he soon decided to invade Egypt... But it was a military failure.
France caused Bonaparte to leave his army and return in the August of 1799.
