Storyboard Text

  • All of Greece shall be mine!!
  • Aha! If I can unite them then I will be a liked ruler. But just how will I do that?
  • Wow! This new Colony is amazing! I love Aias!!!
  • There once was an ARISTOCRAT  named Aias. He wanted to rule the Greek PENINSULA as a TYRANT.
  • This trade thing we have is going very well!
  • Yes, I agree. I propose that we do something about this! We should all have a say in government!
  • Yes!! All citizens could have a say in the government. No more doing what one person wants. We could call it a democracy!
  • Aias was from the Greek CITY-STATE of Athens, so he was smart. Aias knew just how to take over Greece and unite the ISOLATED COMMUNITIES. But how?
  • I can not believe my plan went wrong!!!! It was working so well! I was so close to being Aias, Tyrant of Greece!
  • Aias started a COLONY  where TRADE was a major part of its economy. MERCHANTS came from far and wide to trade their goods. Many people started to love Aias. His plan was working.
  • Young man, I can tell you are not so fond of this new idea of a Democracy. Please let me convince you that  this is agood idea. Now that power is in hands of all citizens, everyone has a chance to speak their minds, not just one. The government is now fair.
  • Thank you sir. I now understand that I should not be in charge of all these people. They all have lives to live and things to say, I should not be in charge of them.
  • Aias's plan was working so well that the CITIZENS of Greece thought it would be best if the government was a DEMOCRACY.
  • Aias was not happy to hear this. Aias wanted power. One day Aias was walking to the Agora, and he saw Aristotle, a greek philosopher.
  •  Aristotle could tell that Aias did not like this new idea, so Aristotle opened up Aias's mind to new ideas and Aias became one of the best philosophers ever known.
