One day a dark gray shelled snail went for a nice, scenic stroll when he spotted a light gray shelled snail.
After knowing each other for a while, they decided that they wanted to have a family.
A couple weeks later, they welcomed their new baby, but he didn't look like all the other snails. He was born with a mutation that made him all gray.
Months later he grew up and made many friends. One day he went on a playdate with his friend and then a predator came. He ate his friend, but didn't notice him because he looked like a rock.
Throughout the years, this continued to happen until there were very little brown snails left. The gray ones would mate and the offspring that was gray would survive, the brown would not.
This took many years but eventually the only snails in their ecosystem were gray and that gene became common. They didn't have to fear predators now because of their mutation of becoming gray.
