The progress of our curriculum

Storyboard Text

  • Hi, My name is Purusha and I'm part of the 'wellbeing' team! 'Wellbeing' you ask? Well here is our story!
  • So first, we set up a private Facebook account so we could socia...... hu hum!.... work together to get things rolling for our curriculum
  • Seen as we are are all pretty smart people, we quickly identified a key wellbeing issue
  • I may not be the best storyteller, but in 6 scenes, here goes!
  • Hey everyone, we might all look at things differently... I might like guys, you might like girls, but we should all get along as equals at school right?
  • A few days went by as we tossed around ideas on Facebook, paddle and google docs. We struggled at first, but then we found it!!
  • I am the great and wise omniscient one!
  • Ummmmm?? Are you sure?
  • Disclaimer: This is just an interpretation of us. Note: none of us are astronauts
  • Hmmm?
  • Hmmm?
  • Hmmm?
  • We identified an issue of LGBTI wellbeing at secondary school. Unfortunately the statistics show that LGBTI youth are much more likely to consider or attempt suicide and suffer from depression or anxiety
  • But we thought about this issue, and how curriculum could make a change. We identified that pre-service teachers didn't really have the opportunity to take unit looking at LGBTI diversity at school. 'This is clearly a gap', we thought. So we set to work.
  • From here we've had our ups and downs, our uncertainties and confusion. But we have prevailed, researched curriculum models, sent emails, skype'd, brainstormed and found resolutions to our issues. At the end of the day persistence and a good attitude that will see you through the woods, over the mountain or over the river!
