In summer of 1642, Hester Prynne has made the villagers indignant and cursed her because she had a child but not with her husband.
...Hester Prynne raised a scandal in the church. She's evil.
She suddenly remembered her family image and a man familiar with her, but she was still guilty and was standing in front of an angry crowd.
Dimmesdale is the villagers who are believed to deal with crime and sent to Hester and Chillingworth told him all the sins of Hester
Who is that woman? Why is she being so shamed?
With all the persuasion from Dimmesdale but Hester decides not to tell who the real father is and therefore she has not been fined and returned to prison.
