Storyboard Text

  • Do you ever feel like your phone reception is the worst, you can't communicate with your friends, and your life is not very organized?
  • My phone reception is the worst!
  • You aren't the only one! That's why the Ashanti have created talking drums!
  • What are talking drums?
  • Talking drums are drums thats purpose is to deliver a message from one village to another village.
  • How do they do this?
  • To start off, every single person in the Ashanti tribe grows up learning the language of the drum. The way that the Talking drums work is that one village plays a sound on the drum, and another village will hear this, and then that village would play it, and so on until it finally reaches the village they were trying to pass the message onto.
  • One aspect of TREGS that the talking drums affected was economics. The way that it affected economics is that people are able to hear this noise from long distances, so it could be a way to let traders know to come. Another aspect of TREGS that the talking drums affected was society. It affected society, because it is giving people a new way to communicate with each other, so that they could have a more organised society.
  • Finally, the short term affect to this was that people could communicate long distances without having to travel, and the long term affect to this is that the society was more organized, because the drums would tell people when meeting time was, work time, and time for battle.
