after 10 years since the fall of troy...
Odysseus is imprisoned on an island by the beautiful nymph, Calypso, for his love. Odeysseus wishes to be back with his wife and son, but has no way to escape.
Meanwhile at the kingdom in Ithaca:
A large mob of suiters have taken over odysseus's palace and robbed his land. They plan to kill prince Telemachus when he reachs port. The men are also forcing odysseus's wife Penelope to be in a relationship with them, but she stays faithful to her husband.
Odysseus's son, prince Telemachus badly wanted to get rid of the suiters, but did not have the courage or experience to fight against them.
Athena, disguised as the prince's grandfather's friend, Laertes.
Athena convinces the prince to meet with her, where he discusses his disapproval of the suiters' actions. Athena also prepares him for the journey to Pylos and Sparta, where Odysseus' companions at war inform the prince that his father is alive and trapped on Calypso's island.
At mount olympus...
Zeus explains to Hermes that he must rescue Odeysseus from Calypso's island, but Hermes suggest that he should build a ship and leave instead.
Odysseus was on his way home, when posiedon spotted him in his boat. Since Odysseus blinded his son Cyclops, Posiedon created a storm, that wrecked Odysseus's ship.
